13 - Surprises - Bree awakes from her coma to learn she is pregnant, a fact that truly perplexes her. Rod tries to deal with the guilt he feels for all that has happened and Mac resurfaces, meeting with Diasuke. Meanwhile, a new danger unfolds. 14 - Gatherings - Bree reconnects with her family once she’s home from the hospital while Rod meets with the remaining supernaturals of Santa Maria. Mac learns more about becoming an avatar and the murderer strikes again. 15 - Homes - Rodrigo informs Bree that he's also in a family way, sort of. Oliver makes himself at home at Mac and Rodrigo's apartment, but has a disturbing vision. Mac goes through the ruins of Enid's place while Martha Trujillo finds something truly disturbing in her sister's home. 16 - Problems - Mac explores the prison and experiences a problem while Bree and Rod try to puzzle out what's happening. Ant finds out watching over Oliver is a problem which lands him in an even larger problem. 17 - Prisoners - Mac finally reaches the prison below Santa Maria and Ant stews in his jail. Bree and Rodrigo worry about the future. The creatures attack again. 18 - Exchanges - Various people get to talking and exchanging ideas, theories, and information and few unlucky folks exchange blows with the murderous creatures that have been on a killing spree in Santa Maria. 19 - Storms - While a storm rages down on Santa Maria, Helen comes to her daughter's aid, Ant and Rod try to find a little peace, and those who remain set about to finding answers; though it is Diasuke who is successful when an old friend tells him of an entirely different storm. 20 - Tears - Melanie and Bree argue, resulting in Melanie taking some drastic actions and her true motives for her visit are revealed. Meanwhile, Diasuke and others act on what he learned from Duncan while Mac and his mother keep each other in the loop, both mundane and magical. Santa Maria is a large fictional city on the coast of Northern California with perhaps more secrets than anyone would expect from such a young city. It is much more than knowing the best coffee can be found at University Square or that the plain brown building just south of Mission Maria de Guadalupe Park is where you can find perhaps the best Chinese food on the West Coast. It is even much more than knowing that there a cults and supernatural individuals living with the city. Bree Montgomery and Rodrigo Valencia have ventured into that secretive world after discovering they themselves are tied to the fate of Santa Maria. Becoming embroiled in the plots and manipulations of the hidden world of the city, the took action to thwart a plot of the Ghost Lords, a cult of mages that control the spirits of the dead. Their victory culminated with a massive earthquake devastating the city and now Bree, Rodrigo, and everyone else in Santa Maria must pick up the pieces of their shattered lives and rebuild, but a new threat is on the horizon.
