Vorare 2008
By
Ivan Ewert

Start at the very beginning of the entire Vorare archive

Flesh and blood, blood and bone, bone and meal, meal and flesh. The prayer wheel of Vorare continues to spin at an increasing rate as the central figure learns more and more of sacrifice and of all that family entails. Some grow closer while others are split asunder, groups and minds, beliefs and souls.

In 2008, Vorare sees the final clash of several entities, drawn together by their promises and pacts each to the other. We see more of the dividing line between civilization and savagery, of what marks a Ghoul and what a Cannibal, of the Others and their overarching plots and of the vast, sweeping history of America - the cannibal continent.

25 - Missives - Having lost contact with the men it sent to collect or kill Gordon Velander, the Farm makes contact with its southern counterparts in the Chainfields. The families agree to a meeting, and to post observers over the now-peaceful Velander household...

26 - Minding - Gordon's Ally provides a harsh reminder of the debt he owes, and the promises he has made to this enigmatic servant. A new understanding is reached between the two, one which threatens what little peace Gordon has found within his mother's home.

27 - Dark North Moon - We catch up to George, the man Gordon saved in the Pen of the Farm. He, too, has made some surprising friends in the dark woods of the north - and we are not the only ones to find him.

28 - Sunday Bloody Sunday - The Ghouls of the southern Chainfields strike against the Velander home, with deadly consequences for people on both sides of the struggle.

29 - Away - In the aftermath of the Chainfield's invasion of their home, Gordon's mother is assisted by her neighbors while Gordon himself faces the hospital, the police - and the wrath of his Ally.

30 - Twining - As Gordon and his Ally make their way north and plan the final assualt against the farm, a killing wind comes down from the west - heralding foes old and new.

31 - Hands of Glory - Gordon finds a crack in the Ally's power, a crack which might promise redemption from the service of his wound. Yet in pursuing that secret agenda, has he fallen further into the demonic nets?

32 - All Hands - As Gordon and George move ever closer toward the Walpurgisnacht celebrations, the dance of their mentors grows closer as well. What are the men of Vorare - pawns, children, sons or heroes?
